Two ways to do your FUE
Yes, you can get an FUE hair transplant without fully shaving your head. Also called unshaven FUE, we offer it alongside traditional shaved FUE. The transplantation method is the same. What changes is how much area can be covered in one session, and how visible the procedure is while you recover.

Neither technique is better than the other. It depends on your case. Traditional FUE usually makes sense when covering more area in one session is the priority. No-Shave FUE usually makes sense when discretion during recovery matters most. Your trip, step by step
Many patients plan one to two days, depending on the procedure and package. Your patient advisor confirms the exact plan before you travel.
You arrive in San Diego or Tijuana, whichever your package uses, and our team confirms your airport pickup. Have your ID and travel documents ready so the crossing and check-in stay quick and stress-free.
You meet your physician, confirm the plan and follicle count agreed at your evaluation, and the procedure begins. Most sessions run about 6 to 10 hours under local anesthesia, so you stay awake and comfortable throughout.
When your package includes it, you rest under clinical supervision for the first night, the window when the new grafts are most fragile. The team watches over you, manages any swelling and keeps the area protected while you sleep.
The team checks the transplanted and donor areas, walks you through your aftercare step by step and hands over your medications. Your return transport is coordinated for you, so you leave knowing exactly what to do at home.
Recovery is measured in months, not days, so we stay in touch remotely at the key milestones, through shedding, early regrowth and final maturation. You send progress photos and get guidance whenever a stage looks or feels different than you expected.
Under local anesthesia, individual follicular units are extracted from the donor area, prepared and placed in the treatment area. Placement follows the planned direction and hairline design. FUE avoids a linear strip scar, but small extraction marks can remain.

The technique
FUE, or Follicular Unit Extraction, moves individual hair follicles from the donor area to thinning or bald areas, one follicular unit at a time.
Each graft is carefully placed according to the direction, angle and density of your natural hair. Single-hair grafts help create a softer hairline, while multi-hair grafts add coverage behind it.
Because FUE does not require removing a strip of scalp, it avoids a linear scar and allows the donor area to heal through small extraction points.

I had been debating on doing a Hair Transplant for a few years. I looked all over the place on the Internet from Turkey to Mexico to here in the United States. I found TJ Hair Clinic through my brother-in-law‘s brother who had gone back in December. He had a great experience and answered all my questions that I had for him about it. Is hair looked great and had nothing but great things to say. I finally decided to take the plunge and go to TJ hair clinic last week. They were amazing from the time they picked me up from the airport to the time they dropped me off in San Diego the next day at my hotel. For the money and cost of the whole trip flying to San Diego it was so much cheaper than flying to Turkey or even doing the Hair Transplant in the United States so to me it was a no-brainer cause they literally use the same techniques and are just as good if not BETTER than Turkey. The other thing that I loved about these guys was that on some of the places I had researched people said it was not the doctor that’s actually doing the procedure. It is the technicians that are helping but at TJ hair clinic the doctor did the entire insert of all the hairs, while the technicians extracted the hairs, but it was the doctor did the rest and I really like that. I would recommend TJ Hair to anyone looking to do this. I’ve already sent links to quite a few friends asking me about it.
